Cricket Health is looking to add a Senior Engineering Manager to our growing team and help scale our applications for improving the outcomes of patients with kidney disease. Your typical week would include helping find & evaluate new engineers to join the team, looking at others’ code and helping them make it better, 1:1’s and other ways to provide actionable feedback to individuals & the team, turning that feedback into solutions, designing future software, communicating with other software engineers (and non-engineers) about all of the above, and maybe writing a little code too. Solid, readable, well-tested code is more important to us than the quickest thing you can ship to production (though we like to move fast, too). We use well-known technologies like Javascript, Node, React, Mysql, and AWS. We’re in this for the long-haul (it is healthcare, after all), so we also reflect back on how we can improve our processes and get better for the next time (and what we want to learn along the way). Most importantly, you get to be the connection between software that serves the needs of it users, and helping our patients live their best lives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5+ years leading teams of software engineers
  • Clear communication, both in writing and in conversation. Know when asking a question can be more useful than giving an opinion.
  • Love building things that solve the problems of real people
  • Team player, enjoy helping others around you be successful
  • Solid TDD fundamentals
  • Believe in shipping early and often
  • Take pleasure in mentoring colleagues, both what they ask to learn, and the areas you find to nurture them
  • Have a passion for making a meaningful impact on the health of our users, irrespective of their situation
  • Willing and legally able to work in the United States

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the healthcare system and how health systems operate, especially in a value-based setting
  • Past experience working with and managing distributed teams
  • Understand that hiring, growing, & retaining great engineers are all just facets of the same challenge.
  • Familiarity working with PHI in a HIPAA-compliant environment
  • Solid Javascript experience (ES6+)
  • A passion for blending the best of what technology can do with what humans are best at
  • Lead by example, as we all learn in different ways

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary
  • Stock options + extended option exercise window
  • Health, dental and vision
  • 401k retirement savings plan
  • Competitive vacation
