We are seeking an accomplished Director Engineering to join our engineering leadership team working on the fast growing Tech Ed SaaS product line.

In this role you will lead, direct, manage, and participate in the day-to-day operations of a team of developers, tester, DevOps and Machine Learning engineers working closely with product managers, and UX teams. You will manage all of the operational aspects of the teams to ensure business and product/project objectives are met. You provide administrative, technical, and people leadership for multiple, diverse, and geographically distributed teams. You will coach and guide teams to enable future success. You would be responsible for hiring, coaching, mentoring, managing, and leading the talent within an Agile/DevOps environment providing our SaaS solution from public cloud to our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Cloud (e.g., AWS well-architected) Architecture, Security, and REST-based services.
  • Good understanding of Incident Management, Configuration Management, Operational efficiency, and Customer Management
  • Has relentlessly high standards (is never satisfied with the status quo)
  • Expects and requires innovation of her/his team
  • Has passion and conviction and the innate ability to inspire passion in others
  • Work day to day with product management, sales, and senior management o develop industry leading proctoring products.
  • Plan, prioritize and execute projects under a dynamic, flexible and changing set of requirements
  • Build and manage a high-performing US/India- based software development team
  • Act as a leader within Examity
  • Support, coach, and grow a team of engineering manager & engineers, foster a positive team culture of collaboration, execution, quality and inclusivity.
  • Develop the delivery plan for projects, proactively address risks and impediments in collaboration with product management, and stake holders.
  • Establish metrics and reporting required to track progress of projects and ensure transparency into project health
  • Effectively communicate project status, manage project risk, refine processes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Be a sponsor for driving Operational Excellence within the team and across the organization.
  • Responsible for effectiveness of the agile project team and its evolution to be more self-managing
  • Owns the overall performance management of each individual in the team – including providing frequent performance feedback & guidance and conducting formal annual reviews
  • Willing to roll-up sleeves and lead technical discussions

 

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical/architectural guidance
  • Passion for continuous integration and deployment pipeline and automation
  • Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals (high-level understanding of OO concepts, design patterns, cloud architecture, APIs, etc.)
  • Minimum of 10 years software development experience in a fast-paced environment, working through all phases of the software development life cycle.
  • Minimum 5 years leadership experience, leading software development teams
  • Experience managing offshore teams
  • Ability to work across cultures and time zones with constructive and effective communication
  • Effective conflict and impediments management, with ability to build trust and align stakeholders and multi-functional teams.  
  • Deep experience working with: One of the following languages Java/Python/C#, Object Oriented Design, UI technologies, Open Source tools, CI/CD tools, and SQL database
  • Strong experience with Cloud technologies (AWS or Azure).
  • Experience developing RESTful API and Microservice architecture concepts.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Experience developing and deploying SaaS applications and services into production using CI/CD tools
  • Ability to make high quality hires in a tight employment market
