Responsibilities:
As the Director of AI Engineering

• • You will be responsible for the teams and the end to end systems that enable rapid development and deployment of AI solutions.
  • You will also be responsible for continue building up a world class engineering team, and ensuring they have everything they need to be successful.
  • As a member of the leadership team of the Enterprise Data Science and Cognitive AI, you will be the engineering leader who is setting the AI engineering vision and strategy for operationalizing data science and AI solutions.
  • You will be responsible for leading the continued innovation and evolution of the AI platforms used across the organization and leading development of solutions to incorporate the wide breadth of Humana analytical needs.
  • You will also be responsible for evaluating new technologies for continuous improvements in the entirety of the AI engineering process from data exploration to model deployment and monitoring.
  • In addition, you will be responsible for the execution, roadmaps and timelines.

About You:

• • You are passionate about both healthcare and AI
  • Dual degrees in Computer Science, Business Operations, Predictive analytics, or related fields
  • You have 10+ years of software engineering experience, at least 5 years of experience in a cloud environment
  • You have 10+ years of data science and machine learning experience, with at least 4 years of experience in deep learning
  • You have deep experience with modern machine learning and AI technologies, architectures, and agile development methods
  • You have operationalized machine learning products and services at scale for large enterprises
  • You have a track record of success in creation and deployment of modern AI products and services.
  • You have experience with modern DevOps and Software Development Lifecycle practices. Methods such as Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD and GitFlow are part of your toolset.
  • You have 5+ years of people management experience
  • You have a track record of building high-performing teams and can help us attract, develop, and retain the best engineering talent in the industry
  • You manage by engagement, empowerment and continuous feedback, and more importantly you view yourself as a coach and teacher to your team rather than a manager
  • You are skilled at communicating to both very technical audiences as well as presenting complex technical designs to senior management
  • You are a transformational leader with experience changing the technical culture to meet modern standards and best practices in software engineering and AI
  • You are comfortable of working in a matrixed organization, and you excel in cross-team and cross-departmental collaborations.
