Disruptor Beam is building a new generation of games for every screen, based on popular universes like Game of Thrones, Star Trek, and The Walking Dead. This is an opportunity to join a rapidly growing company, alongside a veteran team, working with some of the most iconic brands in entertainment.

We are seeking a seasoned DevOps Engineer to join our Platform group and build, scale, secure, and operate both our cloud infrastructure and build automation capabilities. The Platform group owns the distributed, highly available backend which powers Disruptor Engine™, the mobile liveops technology that gives Disruptor Beam its competitive edge. Members of the DevOps team are vital contributors to the design and deployment of environments that are high performance, scalable, reproducible, and have a high guarantee of usability to game teams from development through live operations. You will be part of a team maintaining 24x7 production infrastructure and drive incident and problem management processes. 

What You’ll Do

  • Automate the configuration of our game run-time environments (infrastructure as code)
  • Drive the improvement of our build and deployment processes and tools.
  • Develop and test disaster recovery scenarios
  • Monitor the health of our applications and provide teams with actionable insights.
  • Design and operate application infrastructure capable of scaling to millions of players across multiple data center regions, and availability zones.
  • Continuously monitor and improve our infrastructure for performance, stability, scalability, and security.
  • Support the continuous deployment of builds and content from the earliest prototyping stages through live operations and beyond.
  • Assist the game teams through database and infrastructure migrations with minimal disruption to game uptime.
  • Provide 24/7 product support when on-call (rotating schedule).
  • Optimize and control data center hosting costs.

What We Seek

  • 5+ years experience in DevOps or similar area.
  • Experience building scalable, and high-performance data-centric system software architectures (MySQL, MongoDB, and ActiveMQ are a plus).
  • Experience building containerized, multi-tier web infrastructure in a cloud environment (AWS, Docker, CloudFormation are a plus)
  • Experience managing mission-critical production systems with strict SLAs around service availability and data product delivery.
  • Strong experience with scripting languages. (Bash and Python are a plus)
  • Strong mindset of approaching infrastructure-as-code in order to enforce version control and reproducibility. 
  • Strong experience with agile software development techniques, developer-driven testing, and highly automated test environments.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead and partner across disciplines to achieve high-impact results.
  • Proven ability to simultaneously manage multiple products in production, test, performance, and development environments with varying technologies and lifecycles.
