The Role

The CTO is a hands-on technology leader with experience in third party system integrations, back-end operation architecture, data pipelines and consumer-facing experiences who will lead the strategy, evolution and ongoing development of the next iteration of the M.Gemi platform. As a partner to our product team, you will help to drive the implementation of the product roadmap while also defining a technical roadmap to meet the needs of a rapidly growing, omni-channel consumer business. Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the development methodology & set standards to produce high quality code & features
  • Architect and plan for the continued evolution of technology to drive our physical and digital convergence strategy, creating exceptional omni-channel experiences and operations
  • Audit the performance of the platform and define the next iteration of the technology strategy and roadmap
  • Establish close relationships with existing third-party technology partners to drive new features supporting M.Gemi’s growth objectives
  • Define and assess new technology partners and make/buy ROI to help drive innovation and lower costs
  • Architect and plan for the future of data integration between systems to drive our focus on analytics and data science
  • Partner with our data science, analytics, finance and operations teams to define and power new technical (make/buy) strategies that address core business needs
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to use technology to help solve the challenges related to a high-paced data driven business model
  • Ensure production, delivery, and all technical system and reporting functions are operating at levels which meet business and customer requirements
  • Build and retain an exceptional engineering organization 

Requirements

  • BS+ (or equivalent) in Computer Science
  • 10+ years experience across software development + platform architecture
  • Willing to wear many hats from architecture planning to hands-on coding to engineering management
  • Experience architecting a comprehensive data-intensive platform consisting of internal and third party components
  • Results orientated, curious, attention to detail, and a strong collaborator
  • Strong communication skills; self-aware; we vs. me focused`
  • Experience leading agile environments and teams
  • Startup and consumer experience strongly preferred
