Associate SQL Engineer

Payfactors is looking for an Associate SQL Engineer who has experience doing T-SQL development. The successful candidate will be articulate, persuasive and have the ability to think clearly and quickly under pressure while remaining detail oriented and comfortable balancing multiple projects. Being forward thinking, and proactively looking at improving processes using best in class technologies are essential success factors of this position.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Boston-area based - No sponsorship or relocation available at this time
Manage SQL Server on Azure VM / Azure SQL/ Managed Instances
Implement resilient and performant database processes and solutions
Develop custom stored procedures, views, user defined functions and triggers
Understanding of T-SQL Programming / DDL / DML statementWork on data tickets on JIRA to solve data related issues
Debug and tune/optimize SQL code either directly or indirectly from application
Support development team with database requests as needed (including bug fixes, production data manipulation, and feature testing)
On-call duty required: responding to critical DB alerts / Handle any Production issues
Deploy SQL Server Patches
Manage databases backup / restore databases to non-production environments
REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
2-4 years of experience in developing & implementing stored procedures and functions using T-SQL
Memory OLTP technologies and best practice SQL standards
Experience designing database objects Ability to sit with other developers and troubleshoot
Experience with SQL Server 2016 and above
Experience in working on SQL Server on Azure VM / Azure SQL/ Managed Instances
2-4 years of experience in administering a Microsoft SQL server environment.
Experience in GIT Source Control
Understanding of DACPAC / Jenkins Builds & Octopus Deployment.
