Zagster is a leader in the bike sharing industry, with a mission to make the bike the most loved form of transportation and we’re looking for a stellar Director of Growth Marketing to help us make this happen.

Bike sharing is a $1B+ market segment of the sharing economy, that is moving beyond the early adopters to become mainstream, and Zagster is capitalizing on the opportunity. We’ve recently raised $10 million in Series B funding and operate more than 200 bike sharing programs, with clients such as Princeton University, Fort Collins Colorado, Rochester NY, General Motors and Equity Properties.

As Zagster’s Director of Growth Marketing, you have the unique opportunity to develop and execute a growth marketing strategy to measurably lift bike share ridership in our city and college programs. Because bike share ‘markets itself’ in the world, Zagster’s programs have strong organic and viral adoption. However, we know that growth marketing - both digital and experiential campaigns - can accelerate adoption, get the mass market on bikes, and get light riders to ride more and incorporate bike share into their daily routines. This is a rare opportunity to develop a pioneering growth strategy and methodology in the sharing economy, build a state-of-the-art growth stack, and hire a team of experienced growth marketers to help us meet our ambitious growth objectives.

What you’ll do:

  • Design and manage an incremental rider acquisition and growth strategy using digital and experiential campaigns & tactics
  • Use modern paid acquisition channels to drive app installs and incremental ridership including paid social, paid search, and in-market/local campaigns
  • Execute strategies and campaigns that drive growth via Zagster’s owned & earned channels including organic social media, partner social media, in-app & push messages, and email marketing
  • Smartly allocate a robust promotional budget to test the impact of free rides on both acquisition and customer growth
  • Use cohort analysis to develop bike sharing KPIs and measure the impact of promotion and new product features on cohort ridership growth
  • Build a feedback loop with product and engineering to recommend new features that improve rider acquisition and retention
  • Build reporting and dashboards to monitor growth campaign performance; optimize to cost and/or revenue goals based on company objectives
  • Build rider segments and test new creative and campaign approaches that move the needle

Who you are:

  • A proven growth marketer with 7+ years growth, acquisition or digital marketing and 3+ years of proven results for one or more high-growth, B2C, mobile startups
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Engineering or Business; MBA desirable but not required
  • Extremely data driven; you’ll build and use analytics tools and dashboards to prove your growth budget is driving incremental acquisition and ridership
  • Strong visual eye and creative sense; you understand how to test new messaging and creative approaches to drive growth
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a high attention to detail
  • Expertise with Paid & Organic Social Media, Content Marketing, SEO & SEM, and Website/mobile app personalization
