EdX is looking for a highly motivated, intellectually curious and data-driven individual who will lead the edX global brand, merchandising and retention strategy in an exciting and dynamic mission-driven organization.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Marketing, the Director of Digital Marketing is responsible for developing and executing a clearly defined marketing strategy that will position and strengthen the brand. Additionally you will increase engagement and retention for qualified edX learners (our users) by involving them in edX courses and developing them into loyal edX advocates that will support future growth. The goal is to foster a community of learners who not only benefit from the edX experience but also contribute to the edX mission financially and as ambassadors.

You will:

  • Develop the marketing strategy, including the organizing concepts across website, social, mobile, email, outbound collateral, messaging and advertising
  • Lead brand positioning and messaging that deliver the highest impact.
  • Devise and lead executable marketing strategies for new and existing brand initiatives and platforms that leverage consumer research, goals and overall brand strategy. Includes setting objectives, establishing KPI's and building timelines.
  • Combine data, technology and behavioral insights to drive and optimize innovative online marketing programs that bring qualified learners to edX.
  • Optimize all customer touch points (website, social, mobile, email) for acquisition and retention.
  • Work closely with cross functional teams to evaluate opportunities for growth, retention and positive brand experiences by providing input on the best strategies and testing plans to make informed decisions.
  • Create synergies through appropriate and relevant channels to craft an integrated marketing plan leading to increased awareness of the edX brand and recognition of the edX value proposition.
  • Grow and inspire a high quality marketing team to meet company’s strategic, revenue and mission goals

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years progressive marketing experience as a digital specialist.
  • Director of Marketing role in a small, high acquisition and retention, fast-paced company or Marketing Manager in a large fast-paced online company
  • Extensive experience with B2C marketing and e-commerce platforms
  • Desire to be hands-on in day to day activities
  • Demonstrated success defining and executing data-driven customer and revenue acquisition and retention strategies.
  • Experience with brand management, building a brand, and brand marketing
  • Experience managing acquisition and email programs
  • Experience and understanding of Google Analytics, SEM, SEO, Display, Mobile, CRM, A/B testing, Landing Page Optimization, Customer Segmentation and Personalization, and eMail Marketing
  • Experience creating and presenting marketing strategy and business data
  • Success in building and managing a high performing team
