UX Researcher
Responsibilities:
- Ownership in various areas such as user needs/personas, design iteration testing/validation, and customer/experience/journey maps at Starburst including our SaaS product Starburst Galaxy, documentation, and onboarding.
- Develop research plans to identify customer pain points, test new features and updates, and further understanding of users and their needs.
- Collaborate with UX designers, product managers, field team, support team, engineers, and customers.
- Develop and administer usability testing and user research; identify patterns to incorporate into product roadmap.
- Collaborate with teams globally across multiple time zones and operate in an Agile development environment.
- Deep dive with Starburst stakeholders, current users, and potential users to understand the value, needs, behaviors and mental models; define and maintain user personas, journey and experience maps, and user stories research practice.
- Maintain a central research repository for reference by the Product and Engineering teams.
- Accountable for defining, managing and running research projects end to end.
- Excellent collaboration skills and enjoy working as part of a cross-functional team delivering a solution.
- Comfortable with ambiguity yet organized, with the ability to bring clarity to chaos.
- A passion for building amazing products, not just conducting research.
Requirements:
- 1-3 years experience in the field of user research
- Proficiency in conducting end-to-end user research studies; planning, recruitment, execution, analysis and delivery.
- Familiarity with multiple research methods including customer interviews, usability tests, and surveys.
- An understanding of the limitations of various research methodology.
- Experience leading research activities and timeframes, including when to initiate different types of research
- Experience presenting or otherwise communicating research findings and analyses, with ability to explain rationale and conclusions, in creative and impactful ways.
- Excellent verbal and written communication
Preferred Experience:
- Experience utilizing analytics data in user research
- Experience with A/B testing (setup, tracking, analysis)
- Experience researching where the buyer is not always the user
- Research experience with SaaS products
- location: Anywhere in North America (CST or EST preferred)
The base salary range for this US full-time position is $75,000 - $110,000, subject to standard withholding and applicable taxes. All candidates receive equity (ISO) and access to a comprehensive benefits offering. The base salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for candidates across all US locations. Work location, skills, experience, and any relevant education or training determine the compensation awarded to the candidate.
