We seek a passionate researcher, always looking for the best approach to understand the heart of a problem and determine the best method for sourcing user insights.
A great communicator that becomes a trusted partner of designers, product managers and business stakeholders with the ability to influence the product evolution as a user advocate while educating on the research approach. Able to work on a 2-3 different research initiatives at the same time without sacrificing attention to detail
Great collaborator who thrives on feedback and respectfully critiques others' work. Educates and mentors other team members.
Objectives of this role
Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research efforts.
Plan and conduct all aspects of research (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting).
Evangelize research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and oral presentations.
Daily and monthly responsibilities
Collaborate with Designers, Product Owners, and business partners to understand business objectives and inform the study objectives
Ability to work independently and take initiative to solve problems
Work with User research lead to prioritize research opportunities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment working with designers, product owners, and business stakeholders
Support user validation activities with:Study guide development; Study/Research set-up in various platforms and methods (concept validation, card-sorting, tree-testing, usability testing etc)
Study participant coordination/recruitment.
Synthesize and analyze research findings.
Present research findings and recommendations in an easily understood and digestible format that clarifies the user experience.
Skills and qualifications
Experience creating moderation guides, participant recruitment and findings reports.
People-focused research mentality. Constantly looking to hone research instincts through research findings.
Passionate for learning new software platforms especially around user testing.
Ability to switch between different projects and research activities.
Familiarity with different platform form factors (desktop, tablet or phone)
Embraces change and ambiguity as an opportunity for design to lead product development with new features and user goals.
Bachelor's degree is required
Preferred qualifications
2 years experience
Exposed to a variety of research problems with deep knowledge in usability (also versed in card sorting and tree-testing, contextual research etc.)
Has led portions of workshops that support the design development process with cross-disciplinary team members and business partners
Identifies issues with testing approach and brings them to the attention of research lead or team lead with recommended research follow-up studies
Familiar with A/B Testing to strategically identify optimization opportunities and other quantitative research methods
Ability to estimate work and function independently with minimal oversight
Incorporates many elements of storytelling. Can skillfully present work and articulate why recommended approach is the desired solution
