About the opportunity
Ontra is seeking a Senior Director, User Experience reporting to our Chief Product Officer.
In this role, you will lead and develop a team of UX Designers who are responsible for developing compelling, easy to use and modern user experiences for Ontra's clients and legal partners. You will not only build new product designs, but leveraging user feedback, drive a streamlined user experience across all of our software products. A customer-first mindset and superb leadership skills are critical to the success of this role.

What you'll do
- Lead: Hire, develop, and support a high-achieving team of embedded UX designers that become experts in their domain
- Build: Establish a robust system for user feedback that develops and grows relationships with attorneys and client users
- Create: Develop compelling mockups and prototypes that help inform roadmaps and create alignment
- Design: design fast, simple and efficient user experiences that is both modern and clean
- Continuously Improve: Work on new product/feature designs and improve them through iteration and feedback from teammates and users
- Unify: Ensure all products have a unified look and feel and create a sense of a unified platform
- Collaborate: Work with product managers to define requirements and with engineering to ensure the design vision is executed
- Partner: breed a robust system for user feedback that builds relationships with attorneys and client users
What you'll bring
- Design Experience: 15+ years experience in user experience and product design, including design prototypes and specifications
- User Experience Skills: Proficiency with Figma, Pendo, and Clicktail desired. Experience in user research and animation prototyping is a plus
- Systematic Approach: Design systematically (with best practices in mind) and contribute to shared design library
- Manage and build: Experience hiring, managing, and retaining embedded teams of UX designers
- Collaboration : Ability to communicate across the organization to articulate what is being worked, why it is being done, the objective and expected outcome

In addition to cash salary, the total compensation package Ontra offers includes unit-based compensation (if applicable). Certain roles in our sales and account management departments may also be eligible to receive variable compensation or commission.
