Senior Product Designer (Internationalization, Accessibility, & Design Systems)

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a mission-driven Senior Product Designer to help elevate our platform to be more inclusive and accessible to our members regardless of their location, language, disability, or impairment. As part of the Core App Experience team, you will be directly shaping the future of WHOOP’s product design. You will be helping to evolve a UI component library into a fully functional WHOOP Design System. You will also be a key contributor in establishing design patterns, and ensuring the Design System follows industry best practices for both localization and accessibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partner with product and design to provide hands-on guidance around internationalization, specifically focused on designing for cultural differences, translations, special characters, and right-to-left scripted languages
- Conducting accessibility audits and developing best practices for creating Level A, AA, and AAA compliant mobile applications
- Design and document components, libraries, patterns, and guidelines for a native mobile (iOS and Android) and responsive web-based Design System
- Own end-to-end feature design by defining, designing, and documenting WHOOPs design principles and visual design guidelines
- Work with other designers and product managers across all phases of the design process — participating in workshops, creating user flows, medium-fidelity wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and prototypes
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A portfolio with case studies showcasing design systems and products you’ve designed with a focus on accessibility, internationalization, and ideally both
- 5+ years product design experience for mobile (iOS and Android) and consumer-facing digital products
- Minimum 2 years experience creating Design Systems for native mobile and responsive web solutions
- Minimum 2 years experience conducting accessibility audits and implementing accessibility best practices
- Experience creating guidelines and making design recommendations focused on internationalization, specifically around cultural norms, translations, special characters, and right-to-left scripted languages
- Experience with common design tools and methodologies (e.g. Figma, wireframing, workflow diagrams, prototyping, design documentation, etc)
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (e.g. product managers, engineers, business analysts, etc.)
- Strong communication skills and a team player with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced startup-like environment
- Curious and passionate about the fitness, health, and wellness space
