Senior Manager, Research and Usability
TripAdvisor is the world’s largest travel site, visited by 390 million travelers each month, and our Attractions business, one of the fastest growing parts of the organization, is looking for a Senior Manager, Research and Usability to join the team. With the world’s largest selection of bookable experiences coupled with unparalleled traveler insights, we’re evolving the entire attractions industry. As Senior Manager, Researcher and Usability, you’ll work with a world-class team of designers, engineers, and product managers to develop innovative user experiences that will shape the industry’s pioneering products.
What You will Do:
- Lead a team that incorporates and applies the User-Centered Design (UCD) process to deliver engaging solutions
- Define research objectives and methodologies to drive the product user experience
- Mentor team members to elevate and enhance research methodologies and execution
- Bring creativity and drive to the design research process
Who You Are:
- Minimum: BA/BS degree in Psychology, Communication, Statistics, or another related field.
- Preferred: Advanced degree in HCI/Computer Science or other behavioral or social sciences.
- Minimum five years of direct experience with user experience research methodologies such as card sorting, usability testing, customer interviews, journey mapping, task analysis, surveys, and focus groups.
- Experience with test method selection, participant recruiting management, online moderation, statistical/quantitative/qualitative analysis, and persona development.
- Excellent knowledge of user-centered design methods and best practices.
- Proactive attitude with strong project management skills.
- Ability to clearly communicate research findings through written reports and in-person presentations.
- Experience conducting research within mobile environments (including smart phones, tablets, native apps, and mobile web).
- Ability to ask and answer meaningful and impactful questions.
- Working knowledge of Sketch, Axure, and Adobe Photoshop (preferred, but not essential).
