The Role

 As a senior member of our Data Operations team you will perform the following functions and services configure and manage to data ingestion and consumption pipelines and processes. Other responsibilities will include:

• Monitor and manage health, efficiency, and effectiveness of data ingestion and consumption pipelines and processes.
• Monitor data ingestion and consumption pipelines and programmatic processes.
• Identify and mitigate availability, performance, exceptions in collaboration with engineering.
• Plan and execute on data service requests.
• Interface directly with clients and manage data operations service levels.
• Maintain consolidated client views and control of all data from all data sources covering different ingestion and consumption pipelines and connectors.
• Improve data quality and consistency.
• Manage costs incurred through data pipelines, consumption, and analytics to ensure effective delivery of data within cost and budgetary guidelines, mitigating expensive data movement, re-processing, and unnecessary processes.
• Provide data compliance and governance across the client data pipelines.
• Collect, consolidate, manage, and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) and time-series trends.

• Establish and evolve Data Operations operational model, playbooks, and processes
• Staff, and continue to grow our Data Operations function
• Leverage AWS cloud native capabilities to enable and orchestrate Data Operations activities
• Focus on automation and scaling of Data Operations functions to gain efficiencies and mitigate manual labor activities over time
• Define our key performance indicators and dashboards to track execution over time
• Define the governance and compliance criteria and incorporate into Data Operations processes
• Collaborate with client services teams and their clients and support the client user acceptance and warranty period for delivered data ingestion and consumption pipelines and processes
• Monitor and manage data ingestion and client pipelines and processes, addressing issues and exceptions, and align to SLAs
• Perform Data Operations service requests for clients
• Troubleshoot, identify root causes, and remediate Data Operations issues that surface in data ingestion and consumption pipelines
• Accumulate and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) and align to target expectations
• Provide client support for Data Operations issues and requests
• Identify data quality and enrichment patterns to enable consistent and complete data quality in data ingestion and consumption pipelines and processes
• Work closely with Operations and Security in Data Operations as the data relates to operational and security risks and issues
• Optimize costs, effectiveness, and efficiency in both the Data Operations system resources for ingestion and consumption and in the team member execution
• Manage and deliver to established data operations SLAs for customers
• Create and maintain knowledge base and documentation on Data Operations procedures and related models and activities
• Stay abreast of evolving practices and models in Data Operations

 The Candidate

 You are excited about building out a SaaS-based and managed Data Operations service and function, energized about working in a Start-up Organization building a cloud-native environment and familiar with cloud platforms, especially AWS. Other experiences will include:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field, and/or equivalent work experience.
• Proven track record in building and operationalizing Data Operations in a cloud and SaaS-based model
• At least 5 years of management experience with Data Management/Operations, preferably in healthcare, life sciences, fintech, retail or other data intensive industries
• At least 5 years of combined IT and Data Operations and Data Integration experience with a broad range of exposure to big data pipelines and cloud solutions (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and security services,
• Working knowledge of security issues, techniques, and implications across computer platforms.
• Experience analyzing large data sets
• Experience designing and implementing Data Operations solutions
• Familiarity with healthcare and life sciences data
