We are seeking a self-directed, organized, and experienced Senior Data Operations Analyst to join our dynamic, high-growth team.

As a Senior Data Operations Analyst, you are interested in tackling the tough challenges of life sciences companies in a data-driven manner. You will help define performance as you guide team collaboration and drive client delivery. You will work side-by-side with an incredible analytics team, as they apply advanced methods to big data to solve consequential and complex problems. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategies for optimal delivery of analytic reporting and data extracts across the Product enterprise
  • Review weekly pull requests to translate production enhancements and downstream impacts on master data extracts and customized client files
  • Act as a subject matter expert to leadership for technical guidance, solution design and best practices within the Professional Services organization
  • Develop processes (ex: SSIS packages, BCP, etc.) to move data across servers, extract to flat files, and import to Tableau
  • Assist in cross-functional, data-driven projects to ensure deliverables are to scope, timelines are met and – mostly importantly – clients are satisfied
  • Performs code reviews for peers
  • Management of the Definitive SFTP environment, as it relates to client delivery
  • Mentor and train staff on data warehouse, ETL, and query optimization best practices
  • Collaborate with clients over web conference to implement customized data delivery solutions
  • Write documentation on procedures, design, and solutions

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent required; quantitative or technical background a plus (e.g. Computer Science, Finance, Mathematics, Business Analytics, etc.)
  • 6-10 years of experience in data operations, working with big data, and making data driven analytics decisions in a professional office setting
  • 5+ years of SQL experience in a professional office setting developing queries, views, and stored procedures
  • 3+ years of experience in design and implementation of ETL methodology (SSIS, BCP, etc.) for data transformation
  • Experience designing data solutions within cloud platforms such as Azure (preferred), Google BigQuery, AWS, or Snowflake
  • Previous exposure utilizing Python and/or R for automating ETL scripts
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think of “out-of-the-box” solutions in ambiguous situations
  • High level of organization skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks independently, with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures related to database management
  • Experience with external data transfer processes (sFTP, S3, Azure Storage, etc.)
  • Attention to detail and strong quality assurance abilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Willingness to learn new technical concepts independently
