How you will make an impact:

• Building scalable, robust data pipelines to power the company forward
• Bring knowledge around data modeling techniques that will maximize performance and minimize tech debt
• Improve the design and implementation of our customer acquisition bidding algorithm code
• Lead within the team and across the company regarding data best practices
• Bring your ideas, ultimately our team is about coming up with and executing data solutions to drive business growth, this isn’t a role where you will just get assigned tasks with no input. We are looking for your input and vision
• Ultimately, this role is about using data to make our company better across all areas of the business, so we want someone who is excited to tackle a wide range of structured and unstructured problems using data!

Sample projects:

• Look for opportunities to make our batch ETL system more real-time
• Take charge of the data warehouse and figuring out how it needs to change as the company grows
• Develop new analytical plans for things like: multi-armed bandits and mobile application
• Oversee the design of bidding algorithms of increasing complexity as the company expands to new channels
• Orchestrate data solutions that improve our data quality from our insurance partners to increase trust in the data

What you need to succeed:

• A team player with a solid work ethic who is ready to pivot between projects, learn from mistakes, always move forward, and help build the next big thing in insurance!
• You take pride in delivering high quality work every time
• You are excited to come in and help unlock value for the company and our team by bringing your expertise
• 3-5+ years experience working in a similar role transforming data to unlock business value
• Experience modeling data in a warehouse environment (dbt experience nice to have)
• Solid python skills and good programming fundamentals
• Quick learning ability and a drive suitable for the startup hustle.
