The Senior Analyst, Business Operations drives profitable growth in TripAdvisor’s $1B+ Hotels business unit by surfacing business insights from TripAdvisor’s rich set of business-to-business commercial data, making the insights actionable, and communicating them to business and sales leaders.
What You’ll Do
- Work with an existing team of high-performing analysts to generate actionable insights into key aspects of TripAdvisor's Hotels business unit, including go-to-market performance, customer retention, yield management, and pricing
- Provide timely insights and analytical support to different internal stakeholders to support effective business decision-making
- Employ/automate reporting tools to measure business KPIs, and partner with Sales Systems and Engineering teams to operationalize these tools within existing systems and data models
- Identify the “metrics that matter” to TripAdvisor’s commercial outcomes, distill these into easy-to-understand KPIs, and articulate a vision for ongoing measurement and reporting
- Assist with ad hoc queries and provide analytical support to our fast-growing business as it evolves
What you bring to the team
The Senior Analyst balances exceptional analytical skills with a real-world understanding of the business he/she analyzes, and is highly detail-oriented.
- 5-7 years’ professional experience in an analytical role (ideal backgrounds include: a similar business analyst role in a high-growth technology company, a data-based consulting role, or similar)
- Bachelor’s degree in quantitative discipline; Masters degree a plus
- Hands-on professional experience analyzing complex, fast-moving businesses through a quantitative lens – asks “the right question” about our business, and answers it with rigorous and transparent analysis
- Ability to take in loose requirements, work independently, ask the right questions, and produce high-quality, actionable insights for executive stakeholders
- Confident and eager to learn new tools, technologies, and methodologies
- Experience with media sales analysis, yield management, and B-to-B sales analysis - or willingness and ability to learn
- Excellent hands-on analytical skills - strong SQL or similar skills to surface and manipulate data; experience with statistical packages (R, SAS, e.g.) and Excel model outcomes; experience with BI tools (Tableau, e.g.) for data exploration and communication
- Strong grounding in business statistics - technical approaches and their real-world implications
- Demonstrated success managing complex business processes in a high-growth environment
- Demonstrated success building strong stakeholder relationships and managing stakeholder expectations in a dynamic environment
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment that rewards a creative, hands-on approach
