MineralTree’s headquarters is located in Boston, MA, with offices in Alpharetta GA, and Bengaluru, India. Our Payments Business Analyst can be based remotely or from one of our US office locations.
The MineralTree Product Management team is currently searching for a Payments Business Analyst. At MineralTree we are all about payments! In this role you will be an integral part of developing, defining and executing on the payments growth strategy for the organization. You will work alongside the development teams to provide iterative analysis of the detailed specifications and to provide a link between the business and software development need to understand and document product systems to support future roadmap items while collaborating with engineering architects, quality assurance, and internal business team members. Responsibilities:
· Learn the needs of the industries we serve and understand how the MineralTree Products function
· Analyze, document, and propose solutions for large complex payment systems
· Understand various payments related regulations and what limitations they might bring to the business
· Articulate and document process flows including customer interactions, operational intervention, end to end flows, data handoffs, etc.
· Perform impact analysis for business initiatives
· Analyze product usage and metrics to understand baseline needs of our userbase, and answer engineering questions
· Plan and prioritize the backlog to ensure that the scrum team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared stories
· Participate as a key member within an Agile team of developers, QA, and meet committed sprint timelines
· Document technical outcomes, features, and limitations of new services created in a non-technical representation
· Provide detailed project status reports and manage tight deadlines or unexpected requirement changes
· Help design and execute the test scenarios and test scripts
· Build relationship experience with clients and vendors by leading meetings internally and externally
· Outside of regular Product activities, you will perform special projects upon request and on occasion
Qualifications:
· BA/BS or equivalent experience
· 3+ years experience as a Business Analyst or in a comparable role
· Experience working with a variety of payment systems and rails (Card, ACH, RTP, Check, etc.) required
· Relevant experience within the Financial Services industry supporting multiple LOB's delivering in a highly complex and high-volume environment
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and committed to continuous development of product expertise and technical knowledge
· Passionate about building intuitive, scalable, products
· Ability to write clear, concise internal product specifications and requirements
· Ability to work independently and multi-task, and knowing when to ask for help
· Understand product data flows, technical systems, and business processes
· Strong written communication skills and ability to facilitate discussions
· Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
· Knowledge of Accounts Payable processes and/or accounting systems desirable
· Passionate about evolving business payments
Technical Skills:
· Experience writing stories in Gherkin or Cucumber
· Experience using Jira
· Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and Data Management
· SQL, or desire and ability to learn SQL quickly
· Motivated to independently learn new technical skills required
