Data Visualization Engineer

Machine learning models can be complicated, even for the data scientists that build them. As adoption increases, users have a growing need to understand how they perform and why they make specific predictions, which is essential in ensuring the models reflect reality. Visualizations are an important exploratory tool in satisfying this need. Does the notion of building visualizations with a team of top data scientists and engineers excite you? The Explainable AI team is responsible for automated insights at DataRobot. It’s our goal to build a world class tool chain to interpret models and improve machine learning accuracy.

As a Data Visualization Engineer, you will be at the forefront of this mission, actively contributing to our code base and building beautiful visualizations. You will operate at the intersection of design, product and engineering to help solve one of the biggest problems in machine learning. The ideal candidate should have several years of industry experience in multiple modern Javascript frameworks, write quality code, participate in design/development discussions, and the ability to quickly integrate mock-ups into the working application.

About You:

• You have 3+ years of front-end software engineering experience
• You have production experience with AngularJS and/or React.
• You have a strong working knowledge of d3.js and accompanying portfolio.
• You look for ways to push JavaScript and the web browser beyond what others have already done.
• You are a skilled programmer with passion for the way the pixels look on the page.
• You are experienced with JavaScript, CSS and semantic HTML and have strong debugging abilities across all major browsers.
• You have worked in large JavaScript codebases and have kept the code testable, tested, modular, and loosely coupled.
