As part of the core Business Intelligence team, the Business Intelligence Analyst will have an immediate impact as the liaison for cross-functional data reporting projects. This role will be hands-on, working collaboratively and cross-functionally to gather BI reporting requirements for company needs, building data models, and creating visualizations to tell a story.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Data at IndigoAg is centralized in a single repository, in this role you will be responsible for:
  • Diving into data sets to gain a better understanding of the data to answer stakeholder questions
  • Documenting data sets to provide resources for individuals interested in the data
  • Working with data engineers to modify or enhance ETL processes
  • Sourcing new data sets when required by stakeholders
  • Understanding and embodying our purpose & core values
• Looker is the core BI platform amongst other tools, this role will have you interacting with Looker to:
  • Curate data models Build visualizations to help stakeholders address problems
  • Develop key metrics to support KPIs Define dimensions and measures within LookML
  • Clean and consolidate existing data models to better follow Looker best practices
  • Train individuals in the use of the core data repository and Looker
  • Use SQL to explore data sets and develop a thorough understanding which can then be documented and shared with the rest of the organization
  • Evaluate data quality and providing comparative analysis between systems
• Special Projects:
  • Deployment of an agronomic glossary
    • Currently we have a YAML file containing agronomic terms, URLs, and descriptions. This YAML file is in a GitHub repository and we would like to have an automated process of writing this YAML file to Confluence, formatting the file using CSS/HTML and updating the pages whenever new terms are committed to the repo Slack - Looker Bot Creation
  • Take ownership of the development of a Looker bot which can respond to a number of commands issued in Slack and return data, dashboards, or reports
