FedNow Business Continuity Planning/Disaster Recovery (BCP/DR) Senior Analyst
The Federal Reserve is developing a new interbank 24x7x365 real-time gross settlement (RTGS) service with integrated clearing functionality, called the FedNow service. This service will help enable financial institutions to provide their customers with the ability to send and receive payments any time, any day, and have full access to those funds within seconds. This position is a unique opportunity to be part of a new mission-critical Federal Reserve initiative that will be transformative to the payments landscape in the United States.
A requirement of this position is that the employee must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or qualify for an accommodation from the Bank's vaccination policy; individuals who are unable to be vaccinated due to a medical condition or sincerely held religious belief may request an accommodation from the Bank.
Position Contributions -
The BCP/DR Sr. Analyst will contribute to the FedNow service and support the operational team by helping to define BCP/DR for the FedNow Service with specific focus on IT Disaster Recovery. The BCP/DR Sr. Analyst will work with the BCP/DR Manager to ensure that the processes, procedures, and testing enable the BCP/DR requirements to be met while working to align with enterprise BCP/DR principles and processes.
What will be expected of you: -
- Focus on building the simplest model (plan) that can demonstrate the achievement of Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) as it pertains to IT infrastructure applications.
- Assist in the development of Application and Infrastructure Recovery Plans, and comprehensive execution of the IT Disaster Recovery exercises tests as described in the Business Continuity Program.
- Participate in BCP/DR exercises within the FedNow team and participate in enterprise-level exercises to include working with IT Teams to assist in the development of recovery documentation and exercise scripts.
- Work to address findings emanating from BCP/DR tests
- Actively support and promote Continual Service Improvement (CSI) for FedNow
Expertise you would bring -
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years relevant work experience; or 7+ years of relevant work experience
- Understanding of AWS environments, replication, and High Availability methodology a plus.
- Experience leading DR activities for a large enterprise including conducting business impact assessments (BIAs), developing continuity plans, leading recovery tests, and reporting results to leadership
- Experience leading across teams toward a shared objective
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to quickly gather, analyze and synthesize information
- Initiative and innovation toward reducing operational risk leveraging the scientific method
- Strong collaboration, influencing skills, and verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work in a demanding environment and handle multiple competing priorities
- Ability to work in an office environment and/or remotely as applicable

- Demonstrated experience in leading end-to-end IT Disaster Recovery initatives
- Experience working with payments systems (preferred)
- Familiarity with ISO20022 messages
