WHOOP is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our growing IT team. This is the first role of its kind, and a chance for the right candidate to be both a builder and a doer, leveling up our existing networks in the process.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and implement new network solutions and/or improve the efficiency of current networks
- Specific focus on the management and configuration of CISCO LAN/WAN infrastructure
- Support network and various other Infrastructure at local and remote offices
- Configure and administer firewalls
- Maximize network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
- Investigate faults in the network
- Studies and validates network architecture by developing and completing usability test plans; recommends upgrades, evaluates
- Report network status to key stakeholders
- Scheduled On Call rotation as required in a global 24x7 environment
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3+ years relevant experience with wireless Infrastructure, Cisco LAN, WAN, Firewalling/routing and related technologies
- Strong knowledge and passion for CISCO technologies
- Cisco CCNA or CCNP required and additional vendor certifications preferred
- Excellent understanding of VLAN’s, LAN, WAN, BGP, EIGRP, STP, NAT, 801.1x, RADIUS, TACACS+
- Excellent understanding of network security technologies including; Firewalling, IPS/IDS, NAC, IPSec VPN, Port Security, Segmentation, SSL Decryption and Zero Trust architectures
- Experience with VMWare, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, ISCSI, FC switching and related networking services
- AWS Experience preferred
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong documentation skills
- Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
- Ability to work with vendors when/if needed
- Willingness to learn new technologies and advance technical abilities through certifications
- Desire to take ownership of projects and systems as well as work independently
This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA.
