Job Description

We're looking for a UX Content Writer with experience in complex cloud applications to help us transform the cybersecurity industry. In this role, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver solutions that make it easy for our customers to make their organizations more secure. You’ll use your UX knowledge, experience, and judgement to help us move away from traditional manuals, designing and integrating lightweight, targeted assistance directly in the platform UI. Your UX content design skills are integral to the continued success of our industry-leading cybersecurity platform.

Job Role and Responsibilities
● Drive the delivery of effective and engaging UX content and micro-content that enables users directly within the VMware Carbon Black Cloud, without recourse to long-form documentation
● Collaborate with UX Designers, UX Researchers, Product, Engineering, and
other stakeholders to define, design, test, and deliver iterative product solutions
● Reduce complexity through clear and concise in-product messaging; articulate rationale for content choices; iterate based on feedback and analysis
● Communicate complex cybersecurity concepts in concise, approachable
language, exercising judgement and prioritizing the user experience
● Work within existing patterns to ensure consistency, adhere to brand voice, and increase user confidence
● Evolve in-product content design patterns and define new design patterns,
systems, and continuous delivery methods for in-product content and assistance
● Mentor UX writers, lead UX Content projects and process improvements, and
contribute to the continued development of expertise and efficiency

Required Skills
● 3-5 years of UX content writing experience, preferably in complex cloud
applications
● A solid understanding of design principles and practices, online user behavior,
and application development
● Demonstrated understanding of the difference between in-line content and
traditional documentation, with a commitment to the first
● Ability to influence others and advocate for the customer experience
● Ability to understand complex technical ideas quickly
● Experience working independently, as well as with distributed, cross-functional teams to deliver iterative solutions and meet shared goals
● Experience translating brand into product and aligning voice and tone across the customer experience
● Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously, managing time and expectations appropriately
● Conversant in current technology and content delivery methodologies
● Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related
discipline

Preferred Skills
● Experience working with Figma, Sketch, or other design software
● Experience in the security technology space
● Experience with UX design systems and open source frameworks
● Experience working with GitHub
● Human Computer Interaction certification or Information Sciences coursework
