The Opportunity
As an Actuary on the Longevity Reinsurance team, you'll have an opportunity to contribute to our Institutional businesses. The Institutional businesses are undergoing growth and represent a key component of the company's business strategy. In this role, the candidate will utilize their technical knowledge, business acumen, leadership and relationship management skills to support risk-controlled growth of the longevity reinsurance business.
The Team
As a member of the Longevity Reinsurance Product and Pricing team, you'll be part of a very collaborative group of actuaries that team together to get the job done. Members of the team have the opportunity to partner across the enterprise to facilitate risk-controlled growth.
The Impact

  • Ownership of the actuarial workstream for product and market development efforts:
    • Economic evaluation of new products, deal structures, and markets
    • Evaluation of key risks and development of appropriate pricing methodologies
    • Collaboration with key business partners to support risk-controlled growth of the business, including Product and Assumption Oversight, Enterprise Risk Management, Legal, Reinsurance, Accounting, Treasury, and other partners
  • Pricing model ownership - including development, maintenance, and pricing methodology across multiple product lines
  • Assumption development, socialization and maintenance
  • Transaction support - underwriting, pricing, profitability analysis, project management, and socialization efforts
  • Solicit & analyze competitive data
  • Influence and contribute to ongoing business strategy and growth
  • Other actuarial projects in support of the longevity reinsurance business


The Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Econometrics, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or another quantitative discipline
  • Fellowship of Society of Actuaries (FSA), or Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA)
  • 4+ years of related actuarial experience


The Ideal Qualifications

  • 6+ years of related actuarial experience
  • 2+ years of experience with pricing or product development
  • Knowledgeable in evaluating and pricing longevity risk
  • Demonstrates leadership and influence
  • Strong grasp of actuarial concepts, including the ability to quickly and independently evaluate and model new products and markets
  • Communication and presentation skills, ability to translate complex concepts for a broad audience
  • Demonstrates ownership and sense of urgency
  • Detail oriented with strong analytic and problem solving capabilities, ability to identify solutions that effectively address business needs
  • Superior ability to work collaboratively within and across organizations
