Provide patient-focused ophthalmic testing and assist physicians by performing visual acuity and field testing, lensometry, refractometry, tonometry, pupil and extraocular motility assessments, diagnostic testing, eye drop instillation, and maintaining medical records. Participate in employer training and pursue JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Assistant certification within 24 months.

Provide patient-facing ophthalmic testing and clinical support under supervision: vision and visual field testing, tonometry, lensometry, refractometry, pupil and motility assessments, diagnostic testing, record keeping, and assisting physicians. Participate in training and pursue JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Assistant certification within 24 months.

Provide ophthalmic clinical support under supervision: perform vision testing, tonometry, lensometry, refraction, pupil and motility assessments, diagnostic testing, eye drop instillation, maintain medical records, and participate in training toward JCAHPO certification within 24 months.

Under direct supervision, the Ophthalmic Assistant performs patient testing (visual acuity, fields, lensometry, tonometry, refraction, pupil/motility exams), assists physicians, maintains medical records, participates in diagnostic testing, and completes employer-sponsored training toward JCAHPO certification within 24 months.
