Architect mechanical systems and sub-assemblies for a novel robotic haircare product, taking designs from CAD through production. Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, industrial design, manufacturing, suppliers, and users. Lead engineers, establish engineering standards, manage CAD systems, and drive hands-on development involving mechanisms, mechatronics, prototyping, DFM/DFA, mass manufacturing, and user-centered design.

Lead mechanical and systems engineering for HaloBraid, owning machine architecture and major subassemblies from CAD through pilot and production. Identify design, tolerance, assembly, serviceability, and dependency issues; establish testing and decision frameworks; apply DFM/DFA principles; support supplier and contract-manufacturer handoff; review designs; collaborate across electrical, industrial design, manufacturing, and suppliers; and mentor engineers.

Lead cross-functional hardware programs from concept through launch, coordinating engineering, design, operations, prototyping partners, and overseas manufacturers. Build schedules, translate technical requirements into actionable plans, manage risks and dependencies, oversee prototype builds, and improve development processes. The onsite Cambridge role reports to the CEO and requires approximately 20% travel.
