Jobcase raises $18.5M to help job-seekers adapt to the future of work

In 2018, work looks very different than it did in 1998 — and in 2038, it’s almost guaranteed that our day-to-day working lives will look even more different. Boston-based Jobcase wants to make sure that no matter the new technology or shifting economy, workers will remain prepared and empowered. After closing an $18.5 million Series A round, the company is one major step closer to bringing their goal to fruition.

Founded in 2009 by CEO Frederick Goff, Jobcase operates as both a social media and professional development platform for more than 80 million users. The site features honest company reviews, job seeker profiles, co-worker testimonials and an active community message board.

Now, Jobcase wants to take their model to the next level with their substantial Series A round in the bank. The round was actually comprised of two parts: an initial Series A of $7 million, led by Savano Capital Partners, followed by an A-1 round of $11.5 million, led by Providence Equity Partners. Both firms could not seem more enthused about their latest investments.

The strides the company is making in the employment space are creating lasting impact for its 80 million members.” He continued, “We want to help Jobcase rapidly move the needle as they continue providing unmatched value for today’s workforce.”

Goff hinted that this workforce boost could soon scale up to a global level: “The support of a great partner like Mark Hastings & Providence Equity Partners enables us to even further accelerate our considerable growth rate so that Jobcasers can likewise accelerate the benefits of corresponding network effects. Wherever Jobcase’s funding may lead them, there is no doubt the company will remain at the heart of Boston’s tech scene and the working world community.
