
CarGurus, a digital marketplace, has announced the appointment of Ismail Elshareef as chief product officer, effective February 1, 2024. The company offers an online marketplace that allows consumers to buy and sell vehicles. Its goal is to bring trust, transparency and competitive pricing to the automotive shopping experience.
Elshareef brings more than two decades of experience building consumer transaction products and solutions for small and midsize businesses. In his new role, Elshareef will lead CarGurus’ product strategy and roadmap, focusing on delivering value to consumers, dealers and the overall business. Elshareef’s expertise in subscription and transaction-based models is expected to play a critical role in evolving CarGurus’ platform into a transaction-enabled destination.
Prior to joining CarGurus, Elshareef held product leadership positions at companies such as Ticketmaster, OneFootball and UpKeep. Most recently, Elshareef served as CPO at sports media company OneFootball, where he played a significant role in rebuilding team processes and refining strategy to drive growth. Elshareef’s experience and customer-centric approach align with CarGurus’ goals for continued innovation and collaboration.
