Immuta, a data security company, today announced enhancements to its integration with analytics platform, Starburst. The move comes amid increased adoption of Immuta’s solution among Starburst users. The integration updates aim to provide smooth operability between the two platforms and help companies meet the increasing customer demand for data mesh security and access.

Scaling organizations are adopting data mesh architectures to effectively handle their data and analytics, but maintaining data access control can be challenging due to the decentralized nature of data mesh. Immuta wants to address these challenges with its Starburst integration that allows organizations to apply Immuta policies directly to tables within Starburst systems, allowing them to access policy-controlled data in their Starburst catalogs.

With Immuta’s data security capabilities, Starburst users can access data from across their domains while upholding data security controls. The integration updates provide features such as sensitive data discovery and classification, scalable security and data access control and continuous data security monitoring.
