What they do: Unity Technologies is a software platform that develops 3D technology and VR visualization tools with the goal to make physical navigation more accessible. They work with companies in the gaming, automotive, film and architectural industries to enhance their operations with the help of 3D interfaces.

We’re more than 3,200 people strong and counting.”

“Furthermore, the professional and educational background of my colleagues has provided  an incredibly stimulating work environment. The varying points of view that come from our eclectic backgrounds provide for some incredibly insightful, educational and thought-provoking technical analysis. Between the cultural diversity and professional diversity, I have broadened my horizons in a way that affects my job and daily life.”

One thing that would surprise people about VMware Carbon Black: “VMware Carbon Black actively strives to promote innovation and encourages engineers to think creatively and challenge themselves,” Raina Galbiati, a technical staff member, said. “Four times a year the company holds a week-long hackathon, in which engineers are given the opportunity to choose their own teams and they’re challenged to solve problems they are excited about. As a result, a number of major products have stemmed from in-house hackathon projects.

“This time is also an opportunity for engineers to work with different parts of the product they might not normally see, which helps develop a more holistic view of the product, enabling us to fully understand the mission and the way our everyday work contributes to moving the business forward.”

What they do: MassMutual is a finance insurance company that specializes in life insurance, retirement plans and investment opportunities. Their recent MassMutual HealthBridge program is a free life insurance program to assist those on the healthcare frontlines fighting COVID-19.  

 

One thing that would surprise people about MassMutual: The Enterprise Technology and Experience (ETX) group, MassMutual’s tech expansion, is responsible for all of the company’s internal and external technology and digital efforts, as well as direct-to-consumer marketing efforts. 

“The ETX organization recently brought the technology behind MassMutual HealthBridge, which provides eligible frontline healthcare workers who are risking their safety, to fight the COVID-19 pandemic through free, three-year life insurance policies valued up to $25,000,” Head of Enterprise Technology and Experience Gareth Ross said. “The team developed this program in just three weeks in order to address the current crisis as fast as possible via online applications. From a company nearly 170 years old, in a conservative industry, this ability to rapidly innovate and rollout is quite unique.”
