The way people work has changed, and no one knows this better than HqO, a startup on a mission to help commercial real estate landlords bring their properties to life.

The makers behind “VentureApp” recently launched HqO — the latest tenant engagement platform to hit Boston’s booming real estate tech scene.

HqO is tapping into the rising number of digital professionals who expect their offices to provide stellar co-working options and a tech-enabled work environment by offering a mobile SaaS platform that gives landlords a way to connect with tenants in the building, as well as the building’s amenities.

Our software makes a day in the life of a tenant easier and more enjoyable."

“Right now, landlords are in amenity warfare,” said HqO founder and CEO Chase Garbarino. “Their properties have to have everything the modern tenant wants: food, fitness, coffee. HqO’s software integrates with the amenities these landlords are putting capital into.”

Using HqO, which integrates with existing building systems, landlords of commercial properties can easily manage tasks such as messaging tenants about interest-based events and parties, connecting tenants to building and garage entry, conference room booking, and more. They can even conduct polls to gauge tenant satisfaction.

Meanwhile, tenants can use HqO on their phone to do things like register visitors, pay for food and drinks, RSVP for events and claim promotions.

“With HqO, tenants can pay for their coffee, message their property manager, or start groups for marketing professionals, runners, Patriots fans, etc.,” Garbarino said.

Currently, HqO partners with local landlords, brokers, and property managers to help them optimize their spaces, and attract and retain tenants, but the startup plans on expanding the platform nationally by the end of Q1. HqO currently employs about 20 people in Boston and is on the lookout for talented engineers to join their growing team, Garbarino said.

“Our software makes a day in the life of a tenant easier and more enjoyable,” Garbarino said. “We think we’re going to be the software layer for people to access any property.”
