Based in Burlington, the Sr. Director/VP, Product Management will lead the team responsible for driving product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: product vision; gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements; working closely with engineering to translate requirements into user stories; and helping sales, marketing and support to achieve revenue and customer satisfaction goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the team of Product Owners in our agile/SCRUM software development process. Ensure that the team can adeptly:
    • Interact closely with customers and understand the key personas and pain points served by our products.
    • Write user stories, specifying requirements and acceptance criteria with detail and clarity sufficient for implementation and testing
    • Work with the Scrum Masters and development team to story point the sprint content, measure the velocity, and drive continual improvement
    • Identify key product stakeholders; elicit input and develop a consensus around the definition and relative priority of each story in the backlog; contain scope appropriately, while managing stakeholder expectations
    • Work with user experience/interface (UX/UI) designers to create a compelling user experience around each story, expressed through wireframes, mock-ups or prototypes
    • Work with development teams to communicate the product vision, clarify use cases and requirements, resolve issues arising during development, and accept stories as they are completed
    • Conduct internal demonstrations of the product at regular intervals during development, to communicate progress and solicit stakeholder feedback
  • Engage actively with customers and prospects to understand key business drivers
  • Drive strategic planning and the product roadmap by developing and communicating business cases to leadership
  • Ensure that the product strategy supports and aligns with the company's overall strategy and goals
  • Align with Marketing, Business Development, and Sales in the development of product positioning, go-to-market strategies, and pre- and post-sales activities related to product functionality
  • Support the Sales team in closing new business
  • Serve as an internal and external evangelist

Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or other relevant discipline, or demonstrated applicable experience.  An MBA is desirable
  • 7-10 years of software or technology product management experience, preferably in an environment using agile development practices
  • Self-starter approach to work, with an eagerness to consistently meet and exceed objectives
  • Unique blend of business and technical savvy; big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality
  • A knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and the key tools and technologies being used
  • Ability to work in a hard-charging, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
  • Willingness and ability to listen; genuine interest in understanding and solving client problems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prioritize and execute on initiatives
  • Detail-oriented, with high standards of quality work and have a proven track record of success
  • Ability to interact and team with others is essential.  Must be able to partner within organization to generate results
  • Demonstrated analytical capabilities including the ability to analyze and report metrics
  • Experience with static code analysis tools, software security, and/or code quality tools a plus
