We are looking for an experienced UX Designer who can help us shake up the cybersecurity industry with a disruptively strong and simple product. We believe Barkly will win because of our simplicity and ease of use.

Reporting to the Director of Design, you will work with a team of product and design professionals passionate about creating a brand and product that stands out and gets noticed.

What you will be doing

  • Design beautiful, clear interfaces for our product, working closely with the product team.
  • Stay close to the customer. Attend and participate in regular user studies to validate product concept and designs, then iterate on designs based on customer feedback.
  • Create architecture and interaction flow diagrams to document the structure of complex systems made simple.
  • Create mockups and functional prototypes to regularly test during usability tests.
  • Use both qualitative and quantitative research to inform design decisions.
  • Create design guidelines for our products to ensure interface consistency across devices.
  • Work with our Design team to ensure consistent design language across all of the company’s properties, including product, website, marketing material.

What you bring to the table

  • Minimum 3+ years of professional (post-college) work in User Experience Design, ideally working on SaaS business applications and working with Agile scrum methodology.
  • Expert level skills with design software for creating mock-ups, wireframes, prototypes and production assets, such as Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite and Invision.
  • HTML, CSS, and responsive design experience.
  • Strong focus on Interaction Design and User Experience, with equally strong visual design skills to create a polished product users enjoys.
  • Ability to design beautiful yet realistic designs for the developers to implement.
  • Ability to work loosely and iteratively to explore options, and hone ideas. Willingness to design, test, validate, and try again!
  • Proven experience interpreting both quantitative data and qualitative feedback to drive design concepts and iterations.
  • Understanding that design is a collaborative, facilitation role.

  • You have a passion for making complex concepts simple and using design to communicate value and drive adoption
  • You have a high attention to small details while having the ability to think big picture about product strategy and vision.
  • You are comfortable creating V1 designs in a quick turn-around time.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced development environments with ambitious goals and tight deadlines.
  • You have a passionate about cybersecurity and helping companies protect themselves from hackers and cybercrime.
  • You are excited to help build and define a design culture at Barkly.
