UX Designer

You’re a quick study with a few years of experience under your belt and some go-to approaches in your toolbox for how to solve design problems. In your next role, you’re looking to build on the skills you have, learn from more experienced teammates, and work to continuously improve your craft. You’re eager to learn and will tackle whatever projects comes your way, especially those that give you a chance to try new things and stretch beyond your comfort zone.

You can refine your thinking as you design, by sharing work early and often, and by collaborating closely with other designers, PMs, domain experts and engineers. You love opportunities to engage directly with the audience you’re designing for so you can understand what really matters to them. You don’t just think about individual screens, you think about each step in your user's journey, and your designs and specs reflect that attention to detail.

You love the idea of getting to tackle challenging, interesting design problems within a complex domain that will enable you build up expertise designing great software. Working on something that makes the world a better place is important to you too.

Fast forward one year...here’s what happened because you joined our team

  • You’ve worked with people across the organization to make measurable progress on multiple projects including:
    • Member engagement, where you might have…
      • Helped introduce members so they’re getting to know and learn from one another. We can tell because the number of interactions between members has increased.
      • Made it easier for members to see the impact their participation is having within the community, and as a result, participation and data donation rates are on the rise.
    • Study experiences, where you might have…
      • Made it even easier for patients to donate the data that makes a difference, so we can answer real questions that will create better treatment and care opportunities for patients in the future.
      • Enabled our members to learn something about themselves, and to learn from others like them in ways that will enable them become better informed, more empowered patients.
      • Helped us deliver valuable insights to our partners and clients that highlight the value and potential of real-world patient data.
    • Patient tools, where you might have…
      • Made it easier for patients to see patterns in what’s affecting them, and share key details with their healthcare providers and other patients looking to learn from their experiences over time.

You’ll be able to hit the ground running if…

  • Sketching out your ideas on paper or at the whiteboard is a key part of your process
  • InVision and Sketch are some of your go-to tools for prototyping and designing
  • You’ve got a pretty solid grasp of standard UI & IxD patterns, including what to use when, and you’re interested in learning even more
  • You have (at least a little) experience designing software in complex domains like healthcare or finance, where visualizing data and accurately representing information is a priority
  • User research and usability testing are both things you’ve done (at least a little bit of) – bonus points if you’ve turned your findings into actionable design solutions or improvements
  • This won’t be your first time working with developers and product managers to build software
  • You care a lot about the details, not just the big idea
  • You can tell a great story about your work, including the audience you were designing for, who you worked with and how, what the goals were, why you made the choices you made, and how effective the final solution was – bonus points if you can share what you’d do next to make it even better.
  • You’re comfortable with some level of ambiguity – it’s ok if you don’t have all the information up front because you’re willing to learn as you go and keep trying things out until you get there
  • You’re always on the lookout for ways to make your design solutions more useful, usable and delightful

Sound like a good fit? If it does, we’d love to hear from you!
