 Position Summary:

Netcracker is looking for a talented responsive website designer to join our team in our corporate headquarters in Waltham, MA. This role is 70% design work and 30% development work. This is your opportunity to join a high-performance team and make a HUGE impact on the entire organization.

To hit the ground running, you must bring multiple years of experience in creative interactive design. We also expect you to have a solid understanding of the entire web development process, including design, hosting, version control, development, deployment and some familiarity with backend functionality.

You will work closely with various Marketing team members and developers to create the most compelling and dynamic web visitation journey possible. In adherence with Netcracker brand guidelines, you will create, manage, analyze and optimize the overall effectiveness of Netcracker’s corporate website. You can single-handedly implement user-friendly web experiences that promote engagement, retention and conversion.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the design, look and feel of the Netcracker website as a premier marketing and e-business tool, ensuring ease of navigation, usability and interactivity
  • Create quality mock-ups and prototypes on tight timelines, and visually integrate and enhance the architecture, UI and navigation outlined by marketing leadership
  • Create and update artwork and layouts for online projects including: landing pages, mobile, websites, email designs, interactive projects; concept and design of a wide range of marketing program materials for web
  • Troubleshoot online/ web design issues and defines next steps to find resolution or problem solve independently when needed
  • Manage your own time effectively and with modest direction to ensure projects stay on time and on budget
  • Enjoy keeping up with emerging design trends, best practices and new challenges
  • Have a basic understanding of analytics tools and interactivity measurements for website visits

Experience and Requirements

  • Outstanding portfolio and track record of successful web designs
  • Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years in web design and development
  • Understand the concepts of progressive enhancements, responsive websites and mobile-ready, future-friendly designs
  • Demonstrate a proven, extensive background in web development (e.g., portfolio of work, storyboards, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills in order to clearly articulate recommended methods and value of an approach to get buy in with team members
  • Understanding of online design constraints, including mobile space, web usability, SEO, browser behavior, front-end design limitations, cross-platform compatibility; requires design, testing and troubleshooting of pre-launched websites from multiple platforms and devices
  • Track record of working with various CMS tools and platforms to write and manage webpages
  • Strong interpersonal skills, proactive problem solver and exceptional team player
  • Creative, well-organized individual who pays attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of online marketing automation tools, such as Marketo

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Graphic Design, Web Design or similar program
