Job Title:

Scientist / Senior Scientist 

Description:

As a science-driven healthcare analytics company with a rapidly growing customer base, Aetion is looking for experienced epidemiologists, health services researchers and other scientists to strengthen our Product Management team. The Scientist will be an active role within Aetion’s Product Management team.

The Scientist / Senior Scientist will apply his or her knowledge of epidemiology, health services research, biostatistics, and/or related fields to support product design and application definition within Aetion. He/she will work at the intersection of science and engineering, striving to ensure a seamless integration between the two competence areas within the Company.

Responsibilities / key tasks:

  • Design product features in collaboration with the Product Management and Aetion Engineering teams. Identify the specific analyses and methods to be supported and contribute to the design of the user interface, product reports and analytic output
  • Synthesize input from customers, the Aetion User and Scientific Engagement organization, and other internal and external sources on requirements for Aetion applications and current best practices
  • Drive the scientific verification of the Aetion platform
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Aetion platform and measurement system, and serve as an expert technical resource to the User and Scientific Engagement organization

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree or higher (or equivalent) in epidemiology or health services research, or a related analytic field
  • At least 5 years of experience in an analytic area within an academic, healthcare or pharmaceutical organization, or equivalent
  • Strong quantitative and logical reasoning skills
  • In-depth understanding of healthcare databases
  • Experience programming in R, SAS, or equivalent
  • Strong experience in cross-functional teams and decision making
  • Ability to travel occasionally to other Aetion offices or to customer sites
  • Strong attention to detail and a desire to “get things right”
  • Strong ability to communicate
