Research & Development Intern
Date Seat is Boston’s newest iOS app for discovering restaurants by atmosphere & ambiance.
We are searching for an intern to take the lead on expanding us to another city (or cities) of their choice. This job would entail data
collection and analysis of the restaurants and benefits for our app. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to strengthen
their data analysis skills and be able to analyze the data they’ve collected. We are looking for an ambitious individual who wants to
learn more about the development and expansion of a company, while implementing their own recommendations.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The R&D Intern will be responsible for acquiring new restaurant data and analysis in which to categorize restaurants. This will entail
visiting restaurants to collect the data using our paper template, and include data entry into our database (training will be given). The
R&D Intern will have the opportunity to present his/her findings and will make recommendations for data governance moving forward.
Analysis on a new city to expand to and development of recommendations/drawbacks.
Collect data on the restaurants within the city
Enter data into excel and transform it into our data warehouse
Analyze possible competition and recommend actions to take based on analyses.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Pursuing in a Bachelor’s degree in Business or a business-related field (Market Research, Analyst a plus)
Willingness to learn about databases and data modeling
Must have a laptop/computer
PREFERRED SKILLS
Efficient and organized
Ability to collect high-quality data with a vision
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Bring a lot of energy, enthusiasm, and ambition to work with a strong desire to learn something new

Work from home – with some travel to cities around the region
