Zagster’s goal is to deliver the best and most innovative bike sharing platform in the market, backed by fully automated logistics and cutting-edge software tools that ensure ideal fleet management and rider experience for hundreds of bike shares across the country. Key components of our product are the Zagster bike, dock, and station, and continued innovation in this area via long term planning and tactical sourcing are critical elements of the Zagster brand. We’ve recently raised $10 million in Series B funding and operate more than 140 bike sharing programs, with clients such as Princeton University, Fort Collins Colorado, General Motors and Equity Properties.

We’re growing and looking for an experienced product professional who can help take our physical assets to the next level. You should have a strong track record of sourcing key product components, navigating initial contract terms with vendors, keeping production on track, and ensuring a smooth launch into the market. We need someone who can manage our product through a period of rapid growth, and bring strong advocacy and vision to the product team on behalf of the Zagster bike and station. Key Responsibilities:

  • Focus on the Zagster bike, dock and station – the key physical components that represent our brand to riders and partners at bike shares around the country
  • Analyze vendors and determine the appropriate partner to source key product elements and components
  • Forge strong relationships in the service of delivering physical product, setting up initial supplier agreements that cement partnerships and protect key business interests
  • Analyze iterative prototyping cycles to ensure that a quality product is being delivered
  • Manage a master product delivery schedule to ensure that a large scale development project stays on track
  • Deliver updated product to the market, working with internal operational departments and external communications to ensure that launch and introduction is as smooth as possible
  • Develop methodology to describe new product versions and how to manage the ongoing service or replacement of existing product generations

Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering, Management, or equivalent experience in product development or project management
  • Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in a product development and delivery role
  • Comfort in day-to-day dealings with senior executives from partners and vendors
  • Experience shepherding a product to market from conception through delivery
  • Hands-on, on the ground experience with overseas partners and production facilities
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and deadline pressures
  • Willingness to travel on a regular basis, domestically and internationally, to visit vendors (at least once per quarter)
  • Be a self-starter, tenacious, and results oriented
