CareDash is looking for a highly-curious and diligent Database Developer Intern with a strong computer science background to join our team this summer. This role will work with our team on our database warehouse, and assist in its development, implementation and operations.

Who You Are:

• You are an undergraduate student graduating between Spring 2017 and Spring 2018 focusing on Computer Science.
• You are fluent in Python and willing to learn new languages and technologies on the job.
• You have demonstrated exposure and aptitude with one or more database platforms including SQL Server and/or MySQL
• Excellent software engineering habits: object-oriented design, unit testing, integration testing, data structures, etc.
• A hands-on attitude and a willingness to get things done.
• A desire to always be expanding and improving your skill-set.

What You’ll Work On:

• Support the design and execution of database strategies and SQL components to interact with dynamically configured database schemas.
• Work to analyze and optimize efficiency of databases. Monitor and troubleshoot systems to ensure performance.
• Assist in managing Mongo DB and PostgreSQL servers across multiple environments.
• Develop database solutions using tables, stored procedures, functions, views and indexes
• Work closely with team members to ensure data integrity and database quality.
• Participate in testing process through unit testing and bug fixes.
• Assist with designing and developing the Postgres DB internal architecture, aiding with implementation, tracking performance tuning and feature planning.
