Rue La La 2017 Summer Internship Program
Rue La La is looking for bright, creative, and passionate students to join our Summer Internship program. This is an exciting opportunity to gain great professional experience, apply your relevant academics and grow professionally. And you can do it at a highly-recognized eCommerce leader in the heart of Boston’s Fort Point District.
The 2017 Summer Internship program is a 10 week unpaid internship. The program is a full time summer commitment of 40 hours per week, open to rising college sophomores, juniors and seniors. You will work closely with talented Rue associates in our vibrant culture and will receive strong mentoring to accelerate your learning.

Purpose & Responsibilities: This summer, we are offering a design internship opportunity with the Acquisition creative team, within our marketing environment. This work will include creating paid advertisements for Acquisitions 20+ channels. These may include Facebook, Instagram or Pinterest ads as well as multi-size display banners, both static and animated, to be featured on websites like the New York Times. You will work closely with our marketing team and copywriters to strategize and learn the metrics behind each asset.
Qualifications:
- A strong portfolio showing training and potential
- Foundational skills with applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign
- Strong time management skills with the ability to balance multiple small projects and deadlines
- Experience creating and optimizing graphics for the web
- Strong self-motivation and drive to succeed
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage and meet deadlines
- Collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills
- Great, positive attitude – we are a highly collaborative and collegial team.
- Desire to learn new things and keep abreast of the world of fashion, style, design, retailing and ecommerce.
About the team: The Acquisition creative team at Rue La La is a smaller section of our larger creative group, made up of two designers. The intimate team setting will allow for a more focused one-on-one experience with opportunities to work on a variety of projects.
Bonus Points for:
- Skills and experience with Photoshop frame animation
- Any photography Art Direction experience
- Skills and experience with video applications such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects are a plus
