Position

KAYAK is searching for a talented copywriter who can add colorful, persuasive messaging to our various platforms. You'll work directly with our design and engineering teams, making sure KAYAK's product voice lines up with the smart, irreverent personality of our existing brand.

The ideal candidate is excited to add their own charm to an established, distinct voice. This role requires attention to detail, passion, and consistency. Your work should resonate with the needs of our users, and empathize with the everyday frustrations of travel search. You need to be an excellent collaborator and be ready to improve and iterate.

This role reports to KAYAK's VP of Product and is based in Cambridge, MA.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine the KAYAK voice used throughout our web, mobile and email products.

• Motivate users with memorable copy.

• Collaborate on feature development with engineers, product managers and designers.

• Ensure that new product messaging is consistent with other brand marketing campaigns.

Requirements

• Has already thought of five ways this job description could be better.

• Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, advertising, business, journalism, or equivalent.

• 2–5 years experience writing for a consumer product brand.

• Online product experience, especially in travel or technology, is a strong plus.

• Good-humored and hardworking, with ability to take direction and accept constructive feedback.

• Ability to communicate effectively to a global audience.

• Self-starter who can work with multiple stakeholders, and complete projects without supervision.

• Proven ability to work in a team environment.

• Understanding of visual design, and an appreciation of the interplay between copy and design.
