The Superpedestrian CFO will be a versatile leader and manager focused on making a company-wide contribution. The CFO will have the ability to operate strategically with the senior team, providing financial and operational input to help make critical choices as our company evolves. The CFO will need to structure and implement the tools and processes needed to prepare timely, informative and accurate financial reports and financial projections. The CFO should have experience operating in a startup environment. The CFO should have experience successfully leading fundraising initiatives and working closely with our CEO and investors.

What you’ll do:

  • Strategic Contribution

  • Actively participate in the creation of the company’s business plans.
  • Work closely with the company CEO on new investor presentations and fundraising activities.
  • Make recommendations on strategic investments in areas of the business that create the greatest value.
  • Support the CEO with preparing presentations for the Board and managing our communications and interaction with our Investors' finance teams.
  • Establish lines of credit to finance worldwide business activities.
  • Develop Strategies for worldwide expansion and tax planning.
  • Provide financial direction for the implementation of an International E-commerce Platform.
  • Develop pricing strategies and cost models to maximize company profits.
  • Identify critical business metrics and implement reporting processes.

     

  • Financial Planning and Control

  • Oversee the approval and processing of revenue transactions, expenditures, and department expenditures.
  • Manage the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analyses, and information reports.
  • Develop and implement finance, accounting and auditing procedures.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards.
  • Analyze cash flow and expenses to guide the management team.
  • Implement cost controls and analyze financial statements to pinpoint potential cost saving measures and risks.
  • Manage accounts receivable, credit limits, collection policies and targets.
  • Oversee development of systems to effectively forecast and meet the cash requirements of the business.
  • Establish operating and financial plans and budgets.
  • Track operating and financial performance against targets.

     

  • Human Resources

  • Oversee payroll with an outsourced payroll provider.
  • Coordinate the annual performance review cycle.
  • Ensure compliance with best practices and relevant regulations.

     

  • Treasury

    • Manage investor, banking and treasury relations.
    • Act as the interface with auditors, as well as state and federal government agencies as it relates to the financial matters of the company, and oversee the publication and communication of all financial reporting to the Board of Directors, investors and shareholders, bankers, and the government as necessary.

  • What we’re looking for:

    • Experience in strategic planning and execution
    • Experience with global multi-tier sales channels
    • Knowledge of contracts and negotiation skills
    • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
    • Experience in Supply Chain management functions within a company using outsourced assembly and manufacturing
    • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
    • Experience in raising funds and working with investors
    • Ability to prioritize and change focus as the situation requires
    • The ability to be open, honest and when necessary ask the tough questions about strategy and tactics in order to make the company and team stronger
    • Ability to develop a high level of trust with the senior team
    • Good judgment and the ability to make effective independent decisions without direction from the rest of the senior team when required
    • Self-starter: consistently looking for ways to grow and strengthen the company outside of the traditional boundaries of the CFO role
    • The ability to present to customers, investors and team members in a relaxed and professional manner
    • A desire to serve as a mentor and coach to junior team members
    • A tough disposition that does not shy from internal or external conflict
    • The ability to take controversial positions in a constructive and positive way
    • The appropriate educational background and work experience for a position at this level
    • A graduate degree in finance or accounting and more than 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance position is preferred
    • Experience managing the HR functions of a fast growing company and operating as a key member of senior management teams is a plus
    • Experience with manufacturing in general and with consumer electronics is a plus
