We’re looking for a diverse set of interns to join our team this summer in New York or Cambridge! We want our interns to get a hands-on understanding of the different types of problems we’re solving and work on projects that excite them. Our hope is that this is the beginning of a mutually beneficial relationship: we invest time in teaching, training, and mentoring you while gaining from your creativity, enthusiasm, and new approaches to our technical challenges.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Dive into a variety of datasets, databases and market research to answer critical business questions and uncover valuable insights
  • Help evolve our operational and strategic decision-making by evolving the views we use to evaluate user behavior and the effectiveness of our internal initiatives
  • Develop predictive models on large-scale datasets to address real business problems faced by multiple teams
  • Partner with key teams in the business, including Product and Marketing, in order to help improve efficient access to curated information and intelligence
  • Support the ongoing automation and delivery of standardized data views and dashboards to the Product and Marketing teams
  • Partner across Engineering teams on the implementation of scalable and efficient modeling algorithms that function reliably within large-scale production systems
  • Work with team leads across the company to execute on opportunities for advanced data modeling and analysis, leveraging advanced statistical modeling, machine learning, or data mining techniques

What We’ll Expect From You:

  • Completion of at least 2 years at a top-tier University in a quantitative undergraduate program (Economics, Math, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) or Master’s/PHD program.
  • Experience analyzing large datasets and producing results that help inform real-world decisions
  • Demonstrable critical thinking and analytical skills, including the ability and confidence to make conclusions and recommendations from data
  • Ability to interact with key stakeholders in different fields, interpreting challenges into opportunities for data-driven modeling and/or analysis
  • Experience generating analytical reports from start to finish (data cleaning to analysis to presentation)
  • Demonstrable critical thinking and analytical skills, including the ability and confidence to make conclusions and recommendations from data
  • Comprehensive understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning and data mining concepts; experience applying these methods within a business environment a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Python. Familiarity with at least one statistical modeling / machine learning tool such as R or Matlab is a plus, as well as experience with languages such as Scala or Go
  • Knowledge of, or hands-on experience with SQL a plus
  • Previous internship or full-time experience in data science or quantitative analytics role, especially in a high-growth company, a plus
