HubSpot is looking for a creative, highly organized, Internet-savvy badass to research and write stories for HubSpot’s Buzz Group. We’re looking for those who truly know the deepest corners of the internet and have a passion for telling stories in a unique voice. You should have some experience writing in the areas of business, pop culture, office politics, career development, technology, etc.

This position is a full-time role based in Cambridge, MA (but if you're based elsewhere, and are amazing at working remotely, then still apply). We really don't mind - we're looking for someone that can crush the job... and we'll make the other things work for them. #WorkLifeFit

You will work with HubSpot’s social media team to get your ideas from paper to video. The ideal candidate thrive working independently while team focused. They should have a knack for helping others, and a desire to drive bottom-line growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Brainstorm and write video scripts for fun, helpful and remarkable videos for our Facebook, Instagram & YouTube channels (among other social platforms)
  • Find different stories that are relevant to everyone that works in an office (or remotely!), and craft an angle and story arch so the video is engaging and explains what it is about quickly
  • Keep track of viral video copy trends across all verticals, create content around them, and analyze the results of your work, collaborating with local and international teams
  • Ideate content that aligns with company and team goals
  • Be able to ideate, execute, and revise based on analytics and growth driven suggestions
  • Balance multiple assignments at one time, and manage your time and impact effectively
  • Coach and educate team members on inverted pyramid copywriting, catchy headlines, and more
  • Experiment and try to tell stories in new and different ways

Requirements:

  • Experience writing scripts for social video that hook a viewer and keep them interested
  • Strong passion for and experience with social media (portfolio is a plus!)
  • Must be a tech, business & marketing geek! (should know, love, and use different digital platforms). Must be a life-long learner.
  • Ability to work alone as well as in small teams - team oriented!
  • Extremely organized, efficient, and deadline driven
  • A competitive drive -- you enjoy winning and really going for it
  • Proven ability to create compelling, shareable web video is preferred.
  • Experience with social media / marketing is preferred (professional experience is a plus!)
  • Excellent presentation skills (both written and oral!) is a bonus skill.
  • Ability to think outside yourself and your preferences, but what an audience would want.
  • A positive, curious, playful disposition (no haters)
  • A competitive drive — you enjoy winning, really going for it
