As Product Manager for the Restaurant Config Platform team, you will partner with a dedicated engineering team to deliver amazing experiences for restaurants of all sizes looking to build, maintain and manage their operations with Toast. You’ll work with the team responsible for the publishing and configuration management experience within Toast, a critical component universally leveraged by every restaurant within Toast to deliver great guest experiences. As a product manager on this team, you will deliver strategic technical initiatives and use-facing features to ensure configuration management is easy to use, understand and can scale to meet more complex user requirements. Partnering closely with engineering and UX, you’ll incorporate user needs and segmentation strategy to ensure the right tools are available for the right restaurant operator, from SMB through Enterprise. Working closely with the Director of Product you will define high value, strategic priorities while maintaining strong system resilience and scale. Finally, you will interface directly with customers to understand their needs and use cases in service of your roadmap and long term product vision.
About this roll*:
- Dive in and partner with Toast’s product organization to craft a roadmap and user experience strategy that meet the needs of Toast’s growing customer base
- Actively manage your team’s’ backlog including technical and user-facing requirements, managing API, architecture and data-driven initiatives
- Participate and sometimes lead team ceremonies and scrum meetings including stand ups, retrospectives, planning, and internal demos
- Meet with customers to understand their requirements, pain points and strategic perspectives to ensure customer value and strong delivery
- Work with the Technical Documentation and R&D Enablement teams to accurately communicate product updates to customers, technical leadership and organizational stakeholders
- Analyze and track key performance indicators of existing and new features to evaluate usefulness, adoption and customer impact
- Evangelizing feature investments and roadmap internally and externally in informal and formal settings, with an emphasis on how the team drives impact
- Partner with Toast’s Director of Product and cross-functional stakeholders in Sales, GTM and Support to shape a vision for configuration management across customer segments from SMB to Enterprise.
Do you have the right ingredients*?
- Strong executor but comfortable making strategic trade-offs
- Strong technical communicator, able to translate initiatives into value for the customer and team
- Prior experience working with complex products, engineering teams, product design and research to deliver great software experiences at scale, from ideation through to product delivery and maintenance
- Knowledge of modern development practices, including APIs/microservices platforms, databases and enterprise software
- Technical expertise to understand and ask questions regarding technical architecture and solutions to ensure that outcomes are successful
- 2+ years as a Product Owner, Product Analyst, Technical Analyst, or Associate Product Manager in a fast-paced software or technical environment
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent required
- Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and problem solve using creativity and strong analytical skills
