What You'll Do
In this role, you will be responsible for building out and leading Immuta's product analytics capability. This role is a player/coach. Your ability to lead analytical projects and to deliver product-focused analysis will level-up our Product team. Your skills as an analyst, technologist and thought leader will allow you to wear many rewarding hats on a fun, challenging mission that will bring data to the forefront of our decision making process. This is a high-visibility role that will have a major impact on the company.
Our Senior Product Analyst is a hybrid position that will ask you to be a leader, an analyst, and a mentor to the team. You will own analytical tools like Segment and Heap and will seek to drive adoption and usage of these tools so that product squads can self-serve their basic data needs. You will partner with our data platform team by providing them detailed requirements that when delivered will enhance our product analytics capabilities. Lastly, you will be an active mentor and coach who will guide our team towards an increasing level of proficiency using data.
You will partner closely with our product squads who are focused on understanding our customer's needs and delivering value. By helping the squads to answer key questions, you will bring clarity to areas of ambiguity - effectively improving our decision making ability. By proactively sharing the stories that you are finding in the data, you will become a thought leader and trusted partner to our product squads who will leverage your insights to delight Immuta's customers and partners.
You will also be an active member of Immuta's network of data creators -- the "data guild". Members of this group help ensure that data products created from each of the respective business domains are of high quality and fit for wide internal consumption. You will receive additional technical support and training, as well as amplified impact, through collaboration in this team.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WILL INVOLVE:
- Collaborating with our product managers, UX leads and the data platform team.
- Participating in our data guild and partnering closely with our head of data platform.
- Answering critical business questions that will improve our activation, upsell, and innovation rate.
- Technical project management focused on improving our product analytics toolset.
- Evangelizing for our customers by surfacing potential pain points with a focus on evidence and data.
- Application-level administration of tools like Segment and Heap.
- Spending time understanding our product and the needs of our customers.
- Participating in our OKR process for effective tracking of our key objectives.
- Partnering with the VP of Product to build a roadmap for improving the capability.
WHAT YOU'LL HAVE:
- Rich, relevant experience as a product analyst.
- Expert-level proficiency with SQL for analysis
- A programming language for analysis, such as R or Python
- A BI tool for dashboarding & reporting, such as Looker
- Experience with the technical management of a product analytics platform like Heap, Amplitude, MixPanel, etc.
- Experience with the technical management of an event analytics platform like Segment or Snowplow.
- An eagerness and proficiency in partnering with product managers to find and remove their blockers to adopting product analytics into their process.
- A storyteller - data is best consumed when it is delivered in memorable narratives.
- You enjoy working as an analyst and rolling up your sleeves -- but are also able to elevate and think strategically about building a repeatable, scalable analytics practice.
- Comfortable with asynchronous communication. Using tools like Loom to share insights and information is a welcome part of your day.
