The Microbial Innovation Product Manager will help accelerate Indigo’s microbial pipeline by driving the development of software products to capture, analyze and visualize complex scientific data from lab assays to field trials. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with many functional teams across Indigo including Microbial Innovation, Research Engineering, Software and Integrated Product Management, Data Intelligence and Data Sciences. We believe that understanding our customer’s problems are critical to helping us prioritize features which leads to a strong roadmap. In this role, you will lead a product line or feature set and be responsible for the overall success of that product. The ideal candidate will have experience with and strong interest in scientific data and empathy for customers working in R&D functions.


Responsibilities:

Product

  • Increase speed to market of Indigo microbial products
  • Collaborate across functional teams to help determine the business impact and short and long-term vision for your product
  • Define and create detailed product roadmap
  • Create and prioritize use cases

Process

  • Assume primary Product Ownership responsibilities (roadmap, user stories, prioritization, stakeholder buy-in)
  • Participate in agile software product management and development best practices definition and execution, inculcating and championing those best practices at Indigo
  • Institute and execute stakeholder review meetings for product or product line at agreed-to cadence
  • Work closely with all internal product related teams to ensure alignment across Product Development processes
  • Mentor and coach other Product Managers on product management and agile best practices
  • Execute customer-driven culture in how we prioritize and allocate our Technology investment

Communication

  • Establish clear and concise communications channels with stakeholders within the organization (i.e. Business, Engineering, Marketing) to provide visibility into product or product line decisions and process for decision making
  • Establish trust with customers to allow for a regular cadence of communication which helps to get design feedback early and often
  • Clearly articulate product value to senior management

  • Able to balance customer-centricity, stakeholder expectations and technical feasibility for software product or product line, clearly articulating tradeoffs
  • Able to define, gain buy-in from stakeholders and drive product vision for a specific software product or product line

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years Product Management experience
  • Experience working with science, R&D, or data science teams
    • Experience working with biological datasets required
    • Experience working at a biotech company, research institution, or pharma company preferred
  • Proven track record of building and delivering excellent scientific data products (imaging, genomics, lab data)
  • Proven experience driving projects that bridge multiple teams (Tech, R&D, Data Sciences, etc.) required
  • Experience working in an agile environment, collaborating directly with engineers (on a fast release cycle) required
  • Experience building product that delights customers

Location

On the edge of Charlestown, we are within walking distance to restaurants and bars. The Sullivan Square T and bus stop is also right next door! We are currently working remote/hybrid with the exception of our fantastic Biotrinsic team who work from the office and lab space here.
