Senior Product Manager, Learner Experience

EdX is on a mission to increase access to high-quality education for everyone, everywhere. edX was founded by MIT and Harvard in 2012 and has reached over 20 million learners around the world.

EdX is searching for a Senior Product Manager with a strong business mindset to deliver great products for edX learners. As a Senior Product Manager, you will examine market conditions, the competitive and technology landscape, and customer input to evaluate and prioritize product opportunities. You’ll regularly engage with customers, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to identify, synthesize, and clearly communicate product requirements that create an outstanding experience and achieve desired outcomes for our learners. Your work will help learners around the world find and succeed in courses on edX, helping them achieve their goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the cross-functional team responsible for helping learners find courses on edX. Define strategy, outcomes, priorities, and roadmap for the business area.
  • Work with engineering, user experience, and data teams to design and deliver product. Determine product scope and phasing to deliver the most value and learning with each iteration.
  • Think ahead and build a vision for the future of online learning on the edX platform.
  • Interact directly with learners, educators, other product managers, and stakeholders from across the company to understand and prioritize emerging product needs.
  • Communicate progress and results regularly with edX executive team and education partners. Evangelize the team vision inside and outside of edX.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of experience in product management in B2C software
  • Experience building and owning a product roadmap
  • Structured and data-driven thinking with a strong bias to action
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills
  • Strong empathy and intuition for our learners
  • Experience with agile software development
  • Desire to improve access to education around the world

  • Strong understanding of technical concepts
  • Experience in education technology
