About Optimus Ride

Optimus Ride is a self-driving technology company working to enable safe, sustainable, and equitable mobility solutions. We aim to transform cities and lead the way for a more sustainable future through the introduction of self-driving technologies.

Optimus Ride is based in the Boston Seaport District. Our team hails from a diverse set of backgrounds, and cumulatively has decades of experience building self-driving vehicles, electric vehicles, manufacturing robots, surgical robots, autonomous drones, and more. We aim for a highly collaborative, hands-on, and open environment where peers learn from each other while building technologies for real-world environments.

The Role

Product Managers work closely with our engineers to guide our fleets of self-driving cars from conception through to launch and support. As a product manager, you bridge the technical and business worlds by providing the engineering teams with the customer perspective, and the business teams with the engineering perspective. You help design the product and systems we are building, and break complex problems down into steps that drive product development forward. You are comfortable with everything from rolling up your sleeves for requirements specification and task planning, all the way to maintaining a strategic view and engaging with our customers.

Our team is focused on a rapid path to market, in order to maximize the benefits of self-driving technologies for all. To do this, we need team members to be versatile, have leadership qualities, and be enthusiastic about tackling problems across the full range of our systems. Working at Optimus Ride you will innovate with engineers and designers who cumulatively have decades of experience at the top of their fields. You will be engaging customers who are eager to be first adopters of cutting-edge technologies and enable self-driving systems to be possible today.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and drive product opportunities
  • Coordinate and engage internal and external stakeholders to align teams toward our product goals
  • Work collaboratively with our internal teams to facilitate and track product milestones and progress
  • Translate product vision into technical specifications and project plans
  • Drive product success through continuous evaluation and providing guidance to the engineering teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, robotics or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of product management experience, with experience in launching and supporting a product
  • Experience with project management tools like Asana, JIRA, YouTrackMe, etc.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Design, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, and Customer Support
  • Strong interest in self-driving vehicles
  • Interest and ability to learn additional skills and technologies as required

Bonus

  • Experience in systems engineering
  • Experience with robotics, autonomous vehicles, or complex software / hardware systems
  • Experience as a software engineer
  • Knowledge of certification and testing methodologies
