We believe that we are better together and, at Tripadvisor, we welcome you for who you are. Our workplace is for everyone, as is our people powered platform. At Tripadvisor, we want you to bring your unique perspective and experiences, so we can collectively revolutionize travel and together find the good out there.

TripAdvisor is the world’s largest travel site helping hundreds of millions monthly consumers to know better, book better and go better to reach the full potential of every trip.   Within Tripadvisor, Hotels Meta Auction powers our meta search and price comparison product - the largest revenue driver of the company.  We process billions of concurrent auctions running on a monthly basis across more than a million hotels.

This Product Manager position is within the Meta Auction Product team - the team that enables the commerce in this two-sided marketplace of travelers and advertisers (Online Travel Agencies and Hotel Chains). In this role, you will need to focus on both sides of the platform, finding solutions that are beneficial to the consumers and business customers alike. You are likely to tackle important areas of our product and platform, such as Content, Pricing and Connectivity. As a PM, you will influence the product strategy and roadmap, produce specifications that evolve the platform’s feature set for both internal and external customers, and work closely with engineering to ensure quality deliverables on-time.

TripAdvisor Meta Auction Product Managers work with cross-functional teams of talented and passionate people to build products that help our advertisers. We are looking for passionate and data-driven Product Managers to help innovate and execute product initiatives across the team.  This position is full time and remote.

 Responsibilities

  • Thrive in the complex ecosystem of Hotels Meta Auction, Connectivity and the broader Hotel Technology stack.
  • Develop products and features that benefit its various stakeholders, while driving the best results for Tripadvisor.
  • Understand and influence the product strategy of Meta Auction; actively contribute to OKR and roadmap planning.
  • Develop requirements and specifications that are informed by the product strategy, competitive positioning, customer feedback, technical feasibility and your unique insight.
  • Lead cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle, owning the product from conception through launch to maturity and support.
  • Own your product area end to end: from back-end of working with partners, connecting and sourcing necessary data and resources, all the way to merchandising it to the travelers on the front end.
  • Work closely with Customer Service and Operations teams, and sometimes directly with customers and partners, to ensure a continuous two-way communication, informing, training, getting feedback and resolving issues with them.
  • Be data driven - always keep your metrics and measurement in mind. Wherever possible, use data to inform and strengthen your argument. Be comfortable to roll up your sleeves and dive into the data.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of comparable internet product management experience. Experience with two-sided platforms, pricing, content sourcing and merchandising is preferred.
  • Strong problem solving, analytic, and decision-making skills. Able to ask the right questions, interpret data and trends, diagnose problems, and formulate effective action plans to resolve issues.
  • Strong technical skills. Able to dive into APIs and other software architecture and design tradeoff discussions with engineering teams internally and externally.
  • User centricity. Keeping the end user in mind all along and making sure your products and features will improve the user experience.
  • Good business judgment when making decisions and understanding the relevance/impact of each decision on the strategic direction of the team and the business
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with various audiences across different seniority levels and a spectrum of functions.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to effectively lead multiple projects at a time. Successfully able to meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable with and adaptable to change. We work in an innovative fast growth environment where products and processes evolve rapidly.
  • Teamwork skills essential; sense of humor preferred.
  • Passionate about travel.
